Compute the absolute value of the argument x.

Usage
abs(x)
Result
The result of this function is always a scalar, which is ...
  • the absolute value of the number x
  • the length of the vector x
  • the determinant of the square matrix x
Instead of this function, also the special bracket syntax |x| can be used.
