Compute the absolute value of x.

Usage
abs(x)

det(x)

Result

The result of this function is always a scalar, which is:

  • the absolute value of the number x
  • the length of the vector x
  • the determinant of the matrix x

Synonyms

The function det(x) and the special bracket form |x| can be used as synonyms for this functions.
