Wildcards
Many S_TOOLS-STx dialogs allow the use of wildcards. There are two wildcards supported by S_TOOLS-STx
- the asterisk represents any character or string of characters
- ? the question mark represents any single character
For example if are search set is
sentence1
sentence2
word1
word2
waterfall
dangerous
wet
The search string *t* would return
sentence1
sentence2
waterfall
wet
The search string *t would return
wet
The search string *o* would return
word1
word2
dangerous
The search string ?o* would return
word1
word2
